課程概述 |
This required seminar course is designed to help junior doctoral students cultivate their abilities to conduct research independently through literature searches, reviews, critiques, presentations, and discussions. Senior doctoral students with a given interest area can move on to rehearse their thesis research proposal for comments.
The course is an EMI course that will be instructed in English, but students could choose to use other languages for in-class discussion and QA sessions of the presentations to facilitate communication under necessary conditions.

課程目標 |
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
1. Search for relevant literature, critically comment on the literature, complete a literature review independently, and give oral presentations, make comments, and respond to questions.
2. Conduct health service research projects independently. |

課程要求 |
This course meets for two hours per week. Students should participate actively in class discussion. Students should make three oral presentations and three comments to their peers and host three sessions throughout the semester.
Other requirements:
1. Students should notify the instructor of their absence in advance. Students will not pass the course with three times of absence without proper justifications.
2. Students should cite properly when preparing slides and writing term papers. Students who fail to do so will receive a notice from the instructors the first time and will receive an F for the final grade and be reported to the Office of Student Affairs for further decision on punishment the second time. If you are not sure about how to cite properly, please consult the instructors. |
